Hironoya ひろの屋
Hironoya is a gem of a Japanese restaurant. Unfortunately, as of this writing it is closed until they can find a new location. We all hope that it will be sooner rather than later.
It may seem silly to write about a restaurant that is on a hiatus. I am writing about this because there aren't many restaurants like this. I'm not just talking about the food. It's a major part of it yes, but this restaurant has the intangible qualities that not many can have.

We woke up in the morning and bid farewell after a fun drive across the bridge. Frankfurt isn't too far away from Heidelberg but we had to make sure we had enough time for a car wash and the paperwork.Autobahn to Frankfurt |

I saw a picture of the crown jewel of Speyer Museum online many years ago. My younger self vowed to go there one day because heck, how often do you get to climb into a 747-200 perched atop some stilts in the sky?

Tomales Bay Oysters Update
I previously had a post about eating farm fresh oysters at Tomales Bay Oyster Company in Marshall, CA.
Unfortunately they have since had to close their picnicking area this is due to a use permit that was issued to them in 1987. We were able to go on the weekend prior to their October 11, 2015 closure. They have since reopened with limited hours for wholesale retail only.

How I Yelled at Avis SFO
I think this is the only time I've actually yelled at someone I don't personally know. It's not something that I do. You never know the full story of what is going on with the other person so there can be many reasons why someone seems to be doing a poor job. I'm not entirely proud of this but I thought I'd share.
