Conrad Macao

BT and I really like Conrad hotels after having stayed at the NYC one before. We really like the modern decor, more personalized service, super comfortable beds, free Hilton Gold breakfasts, and the turn down service giveaways. Okay, we're just total suckers for the teddy bears and rubber ducks.

This side trip to Macao was a part of showing BT and NL around Hong Kong. It is a quick jet foil ride from Hong Kong island to Macao. My mom took charge in plotting the tourist sightseeing itinerary of death. See, my mom likes to maximize her time as much as possible whenever she's on vacation. So her idea of a vacation means waking up early and going from spot to spot until you collapse in bed. I think the Conrad Macao has changed her mind a bit though...

Check in was smooth since our hotel contact, Elvis (not kidding), had contacted us a week prior to make sure we were set with all of our preferences. Since we were a varied group BT had booked four rooms under his name. We all ended up in suites of some sort after some paid upgrades and what not. I guess as a gesture of appreciation, Elvis upgraded the finaly room to the King deluxe corner suite! The website says it has 1,119 sq ft!!

Nespresso is a huge thing in Asia I guess

By the way, the tub can easily fit two people. Yes I tried.

Needless to say the room was huge and more than anything two people would ever need for one night. It's bigger than my apartment. Not shown were pictures of the entryway corridor, and additional media room with couch and TV.

After dropping off our luggage we went to town and had some delicious Macanese food. The number of tourists on the streets was overwhelming. It didn't help that a Grand Prix was going on.

Luckily we made it back to the hotel in time for afternoon tea at The Lounge next to the lobby and casino.

Afternoon tea at The Lounge
I remember the price being really reasonable for the amount of yums that you get.

In the morning the hotel breakfast buffet is at The Grand Orbit. I can't help but laugh at the name due to Family Guy. The buffet was really well varied with Western and Asian foods. You'll definitely find something you like. Apologies that my photos don't do it justice.

Hilton Gold status grants you a free breakfast + 1 guest. The downside to this breakfast and seemingly throughout the trip was that we would have to remind people that BT was Hilton gold and should get the breakfast free. I hate pulling rank on people but the hotel staff didn't seem used to the idea of a loyalty program.

Fruits. Logans!

Condense milk with fried man tao buns? YES!

Sauces and toppings for every need

I'll be honest. Conrads aren't that cheap to stay at. If you want to indulge a bit then Conrad is great. That being said, out of all the three that I have stayed at the Conrad Macao is the most bang for your buck. The service could be better. The room was amazing. Plus it's not hard to get to via a free shuttle from the ship terminal.

Turn down service goodies. Bears and ducks with dice!

Special thanks to TW for taking time off work to hang out with us crazies at the casino!!
